1. Regulation (EC) Nr. 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).

WIKA as a manufacturer of measuring and control instruments, do not produce any substances/chemicals and are therefore neither a manufacturer nor an importer of chemical products within the meaning of REACH regulation. The products manufactured by WIKA Group are considered ”articles” in the sense of REACH and these products do not release any chemical substances under normal and reasonably foreseeable conditions of use, i.e. there is no obligation to register.

According to Article 33 of the REACH regulation, WIKA have an obligation to inform about substances in articles that fulfil one of the criteria of Article 57. This information obligation takes place via the delivery note. As soon as new substances are added to the candidate list, WIKA has a standard process for testing and assessing the new substances. The information on the delivery note therefore always refers to the currently valid version of the REACH candidate list. Please note that the information may change depending on the REACH data received from our suppliers. According to the current state of knowledge, a health risk to your employees from WIKA products is not to be expected.

2. Statement SCIP Database

WIKA inform that they have already entered the relevant data in the SCIP database. Due to the large amount of data and the complexity of the entire SCIP database, it is currently not possible to share SCIP numbers on a large scale. Like many other companies, WIKA are working on further elaborating the data and making it available in a comprehensible way in the future.

4. Declaration of Materials - Asbestos

Asbestos consists of six naturally occurring silicate minerals. Because of its properties, it has been widely used as a building material for a number of different purposes. However, it is known that all types of asbestos fibres cause serious risks to human health. Asbestos is now forbidden in most countries. In the EU, this has been the case since 2005 with Directive 2003/18/EC, now replaced by Directive 2009/148/EC, which was transposed into national law in Germany with the Gefahrstoffverordnung (GefStoffV). WIKA hereby confirm that they comply with the requirements of the regulation and that their products do not contain asbestos.

5. Mercury – regulation (EU) 2017/852

Mercury is a very toxic substance which represents a global and major threat to human health, ecosystems and wildlife. The Regulation bans both imports into and exports from the EU of various mercury compounds. In addition, various restrictions have been imposed on products containing mercury. WIKA has been working actively for many years to substitute hazardous substances from production and products and is aware of the dangers posed by mercury and mercury compounds. WIKA can therefore assure that they are not affected by the above-mentioned regulation, as they do not use the substance in question in their products.

6. POP – Regulation (EU) 2019/1021

The POP Regulation prohibits the production, placing on the market and use of the substances listed in Annex 1. As a manufacturer of measuring and control instruments, WIKA do not produce any substances/chemicals ourselves. These prohibitions also apply to mixtures or articles containing these substances. However, WIKA can inform that they are currently not aware of any products or components in which the limit values specified in the POP Ordinance are exceeded.
